Hello!

Welcome to Not Afraid Of Beige. My roots as a farm girl growing up in the upper plains run deep. I no longer live on a farm but I am grateful for the legacy of my time spent on the open prairie.

I started blogging while I was a middle school science teacher. Writing was a way for me to practice my love of  storytelling. After I retired I found myself exploring other passions and I wanted a gathering place for sharing information. A nudge from my daughter resulted in this website. It is not a place for those who are seeking ritzy or glitzy. But I hope it is a place for finding something useful, amusing or tranquil.
