After days of schlepping luggage in and out of hotels, listening to the hum of traffic, stopping for stretch breaks, eating sandwiches and grapes for lunch and viewing the fascinating and not-so-fascinating sights, it finally happened. We arrived at our destination, 1,659 miles later. What blessed relief for my cramping butt cheeks and fuzzy brain.

We are in Springfield, Oregon, for a celebration party for my son-in-law's birthday and my daughter and son-in-law's wedding anniversary. The next few days will be spent making preparations for the party, catching up with my daughter and son-in-law, re-introducing ourselves to her skittish cats and soaking in the joy of family time.

Here are the latest pics.

As we meandered our way through the Cascades, we had our eyes on several snow covered peaks. It was an interesting juxtaposition to feel the heat of the day and see glistening snow in the distance.

Our lunch break was at a Three Sisters viewing area. I think my turkey sandwich was just a bit tastier with this view.

The dawning sun was grappling its way over the trees during my morning walk. Oregon is a land of many trees, particularly conifers. It might be time for another field guide.

My daughter's front door....the best view of all.
